He seemed to want to play, we’ll see if he’s really healthy enough to and whether they let him.
If he does play I’d expect to see him/Thompkins/Boyce moving around a lot to compliment Edelman (who should play every snap). The Pats must play to the advantage of not letting the Jets key in on anyone. In the past it was easy, Revis is on Moss, Cromartie is on Welker, etc.
Now they can’t necessarily do that, because they don’t know who will be where. So if the Pats can use that it could help them spring Edelman.
The major problem will be if the Pats get down and need to come back. Then the game falls directly into the Jets’ hands. I expect it will be close all the way until the end.

Never forget…
Patriots Worst Nightmare (by PatsPropaganda)

Well I guess I’d counter that with how many dominating performances have we seen out of this defense the last three seasons, even against rookie and back-up QBs? Last week’s game was the first time since 2009 that they didn’t give up a 20+ touchdown.
So yeah, expectations are a little low around here, but what would expectations be tonight if we had the defense from 2003-2007? 10 points or less maybe for the Jets.
All I know is that this is the home opener against a rookie quarterback in his first road start. I don’t know what we’ll expect against Peyton or Big Ben or Matt Ryan or any other good veteran QB, but for tonight, I expect to see this defense show us something because this re-build has been going on for five years.
It’s time.
As for Boyce, it will depend on how healthy Dobson is, but I think he could see around 20.
You had me on everything until Lloyd. LOL
But really I am fully all about the defense tonight. I am dying to see a dominating performance out of them and the offense needs them to have one tonight. I am expecting a dominating night out of Chandler Jones… a entering the elite defensive end conversation-type night. Are those expectations too high? Maybe. And we can’t forget about the Jet-killer Rob Ninkovich.
If the front seven comes to play tonight there’s no reason they can’t hold the Jets under 14 points. That’s what I want.
As for Lloyd, let’s just take our lumps with the rookies now. It will pay off in the long run, unlike bringing Lloyd’s loco crazy back into the fold.
One of the things I hate most about how football is covered is the constant need to rank each and every team, player and element after each week’s games. The Patriots won yesterday, but it was against Tyler Palko so how good are they really? Are they the best team in the AFC? Is this […]
