Patriots History Tuesday: 1999 Patriots

We’re taking it back this year to Year 1 BBB (Before Bill Belichick). The reason that this team is an interesting one is because of all the Patriots legends that were on the team, yet they still went 8-8. This is a reminder that championship teams, and especially defenses, are forged over time. I hope that 2009 and 2010 will be building blocks toward another dynasty just like the late 90’s teams were the foundation for the first one.

Patriots History Tuesdays: 1988 Patriots

In honor of the throwbacks this weekend here’s a nice recap of the 1988 Patriots who were pretty unmemorable. But this was the height of the Steve Grogan neck roll era. An era that I saw more than a few games at the old stadium. So it will always be special. This was just as the night was growing darkest for the Patriots franchise, just before Mr. Robert Kraft came to town and turned the franchise into one of the best.

New England Patriots History Tuesday: Pats vs. Chargers 2006 AFCDG

I’ve posted this video before but since it was my number one all time fan experience and we’re playing the Chargers this Sunday I’m posting it again. I don’t think you can ever top a playoff upset of the number one ranked team on home turf. It was a classic Patriots game, they just hung in there and made the plays when they had to. Troy Brown’s strip was a game saver and has to be one of the great plays of his career.
