Patriots snaps: CB Marquice Cole targeted quickly – ESPN

When Cole came on late in the second quarter for the injured Arrington, the Dolphins quickly targeted him and produced a 39-yard catch-and-run touchdown by Mike Wallace. As part of a game plan that had top corner Talib playing inside for most of the game, Arrington’s injury created a situation where Cole, more of a natural slot corner, aligned on the outside against Wallace. That was a matchup the Dolphins took advantage of, and led to the question: What made Cole a better option than the rookie Ryan, or even McCourty (with Duron Harmon entering at safety)?

New England allowed 64 yards on 17 carries for 3.8 yards per carry when Siliga was on the field on Sunday against the Dolphins. Good stuff throughout this one from Doug Kyed…

New England sacked Tannehill four times and hit him three more, but for the most part, Tannehill had a lot of time to throw, which is how he completed 25 of 37 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns. Defensive end Chandler Jones had the most production, with six pressures, but he hardly dominated the game.

Getting a slow start here this morning, catching up on all the different takes on the Pats’ loss. The good thing is they’re still in second place in the AFC and control their fate for a bye. Are the 2013 Pats a great team? Not yet, but they are a pretty good team that there’s a lot to like about.

Let’s remember that as we turn the page to a big game with the Ravens.

The Pass | By Ricardo Lockette

The Pass | By Ricardo Lockette Well I certainly enjoyed reading this one more than I did reading about Rodney Harrison’s perspective on the Helmet catch. Really good piece from Lockette and credit to him for being able to talk about a horrible moment (from his perspective, not mine of course).
