Talking about tight ends, it’s clear that Brady and Daniel Fells have a pretty good connection. The quarterback found him a couple of times in passing drills, and Fells showed a steadiness and consistency — as he has done through most of the first five practices this summer.
It’s almost as if it was expected that Amendola would come in and dominate camp after showing so well in OTAs and minicamp, but if anything, he’s surpassed his already lofty expectations. It’s not easy for a player to come in and replace Wes Welker, but Amendola has been catching everything thrown his way and made spectacular catches look easy.
Amendola is diving all over the field, showing off quick-twitch agility in his routes and even gaining separation downfield. He and Tom Brady really seem to be on the same page and he’s always a part of the first-team unit.

The practice opened with Tim Tebow running the read-option with running backs. No other quarterbacks participated in the drill. The read-option is one of the new offensive fads in the NFL, and Tebow’s running ability makes him a candidate to run it.

Tweets of Note from Tuesday’s Patriots Practice
No Dobson today, and although he was spotted on the sideline every day missed is tough to make up. Hopefully with tomorrow’s day off, he’ll be able to get back out there asap.
#ChandlerJones aligned as a legit 5 tech DE in base 3-4. If he can hold up, thrive at that size, at that position vs. reg runs…impressive

Dobson is out on the field watching practice. Walking gingerly, seems to be favoring right leg, but doesn’t appear too serious

Thompkins just caught a deep sideline bomb from Brady. Went up between Logan Ryan & Devin McCourty to grab it. Spiked the ball to celebrate

Brady throws for Zach Sudfeld in the back corner of the end zone. Sudfeld comes up with the one-handed grab. Crowd goes wild.

Danny Amendola is far and away, not even close, the best WR on the field.

Ridley and Arrington got into a mini scrap at the end of practice to close out the day. Arrington popped Ridley and Rid retaliated.

Excited to announce we’ll now be featuring an awesome collection of Pats shirts from Townie News at the Prop Shop! “The Brady” remains my favorite Pats tee to this day, and I just about wore it out the last three seasons. Might time to get another one…
And of course our three tees are available there too. Stock up before the season starts!

We saw Dont’a Hightower take some reps in one-on-one pass rushing drills on Sunday, then we saw him take that edge work to another level, as he had some rushes and blitzes off the edge in team drills on Monday night. Will be interesting to see if that continues into the season.

Frenz looks at the one-on-one pass rush drills, with this note on someone who could make some noise with Armond Armstead being sidelined indefinitely.
Even defensive tackle Joe Vellano, who suffered a crushing 0-4-0 day on Sunday, went 4-0-0 on Monday night, and logged a victory over center Ryan Wendell, who has dominated those drills to this point.
