Time for the AFC East to Run Over Patriots?
New post is up over at Sportsblog, just wondering if it’s time for the AFC East to take to the ground vs. the Pats. It’s still early in the offseason and there are plenty of moves yet to come, but right now, given the value and who’s available on the running back market, it could make sense.

Didn’t even think this stuff was worth blogging about earlier this week but when Perez Florio keeps beating the drum, someone has to be the voice of reason. Bravo to Reiss for that.
I think the context on both Talib and Spikes’ comments were stretched a bit and does it really matter if they’re not listing the exact body part? They’re usually vague about it anyway, i.e. “lower body injury”.
As Reiss points out, what matters most is how much of a chance is there that they play. Writers like Florio are just butthurt when they spend all week overanalyzing a specific injury only to find that’s not even the injury they have.
Anyway, moving on…

I definitely had an offer from the Patriots. But there was language in there that definitely was a little shaky compared to Denver’s offer. The Patriots are a great organization. I loved my time there. I loved playing for Bill. He’s a great leader. I’ll be able to tell my kids I played for Bill Belichick someday and I was Tom Brady’s teammate.

I just want to thank Mr. Kraft and the whole Patriots organization for taking a chance on me. They could have gone out and signed anybody. I just want them to know I appreciate it and I’m going to give them everything I have.

Good update, I think something internal has to happen with one of the situations laid out by Reiss here. Wilfork is likely seeing what other teams might be willing to pay him and should make a decision soon I’d guess.
I do wonder how that whole mechanism is working. Do the Pats have to give him permission to talk to other teams? Or is Vince just stewing and the Pats are just sitting and letting him stew. I’d guess they’re letting him see what’s out there.
Adrian Wilson is an interesting guy to watch, and not just because he’s sitting on No. 24 as the Patriots still haven’t given Revis a number in their presale of his jersey.
Expect something to happen on this front in the next two days…
