The Future of the NFL: More Up-tempo No-huddle | Smart Football

The Future of the NFL: More Up-tempo No-huddle | Smart Football

Modern defenses want to match offenses in terms of strength and speed via personnel substitutions. They also want to confuse offenses with movement and disguise. The up-tempo no-huddle stymies those defensive options. The defense doesn’t have time to substitute, and it’s also forced to show its hand: It can’t disguise or shift because the quarterback can snap the ball and take advantage of some obvious, structural weakness. And when the defense is forced to reveal itself, Tom Brady can change into a better play. The upshot of this tactic: Brady, of all people, sees defenses that are simpler than those most other NFL quarterbacks go up against.

Tom Brady – It’s Not About The Shoes Commercial (by CelticsPatriotsman)

I know TFB’s catching a lot of crap this off-season, but going to five Super Bowls in his ten full seasons? For those that are bad at math that’s going to a Super Bowl every other year for ten seasons. And one other year was a loss in the AFCCG.

Ultimately winning those Super Bowls is what matters, but I’m sorry I’ll put Tom Brady up against any quarterback in history and like my chances. Even Eli Manning.

Brady has been the starter for 10 seasons (he was hurt after one game in 2008), and the Patriots went to the Super Bowl in five of those years. Follow the bread crumbs, people. The guy is one of the game’s best quarterbacks ever, and as long as he’s upright the Patriots have nothing to worry about.

I have a lot of respect for Peyton Manning as a person and as a player. He is a great role model and always puts the team first. And he is a great leader and representative for the NFL. Like always, it will be fun to compete against him this year when the New England Patriots play the Denver Broncos.

What a season Gronk had. Just starting to really appreciate it and wow do I hope he’s a Patriot for life. If he is he’ll have Brady for maybe the first half and then be the veteran tight end to the heir to the throne (not convinced it’s Mallet just yet). Of course a veteran tight end can be an inexperienced QBs best friend so hopefully he helps ease that horrible, horrible transition we’ll unfortunately have to go through at some point.

In the meantime I can’t wait to enjoy the few precious seasons of young meathead Gronk, and Brady still in his prime.
