steelers

January 15, 2014 by Mike Dussault

We didn’t lose the game because of any ‘Spygate,’ because of them having any additional things,” Cowher told 93.7 The Fan on Wednesday. “[If] they’re guilty of anything they’re guilty of arrogance because they were told not to do something but it was something everybody does. They got caught doing it with a camera. Stealing someone’s signals was a part of the game and everybody attempted to do that. We had people that always tried to steal signals. What happened when we lost that game is they outplayed us. It had nothing to do with stealing signals or cheating or anything else.

Scouting the Pittsburgh Steelers – Going Deep – Boston.com

Frenz gets us up to speed on the Steelers. The two teams traded blows in 2010 and 2011. The Steelers won by just 8 in 2011 despite one of the more dominating performances the Pats have ever faced.

Tom Brady has a history of knowing how to beat the Steeler defense for a lot of yards and points, but the Steelers switched things up a bit in 2011 and it gave TB12 some problems. It will be interesting to see how they adjust this year.

In 2010, we saw it start with the Jets in the playoffs,” Clark added. “When Tom Brady gets pressure and when you’re man-to-man and bumping those guys and making it hard for him to throw, he sees ghosts. Even when guys aren’t around him, even when he’s not about to be sacked, when his clock goes off in his head that the ball should be out, we’ll see him duck, we’ll see him flinch. When you get Tom Brady doing that, the whole New England Patriots mystique goes away.

Mike, last year you were spot on with Easley. You clearly had a draft crush on him, and I was extremely excited they took him. With the combine going on, who’s your early favorite for the Patriots in round one (assuming they stay at 32). I’m starting to really like SC guard AJ Cann. Seems tough, smart, and a good leader, plus at a position of need. Who you got?

Seems like Cann is where most Patriots fans are starting out with their draft binkies and he makes a lot of sense. I’ve just started to wade into the draft a bit, and yes, guards will be a heavy area of focus, but I think the important thing to remember is that they really shouldn’t […]
