A film review of Jenkins’ 2012 performance suggests that this is a signing that is more about depth and creating competition rather than finding a replacement for Brandon Lloyd. Jenkins was used as both a split end (“X”) and slot receiver in Minnesota, which focused more on the short-to-intermediate passing game with quarterback Christian Ponder rather than stressing a defense vertically. As it relates to his frame and skill set, Jenkins has a long, wiry build (6-foot-4, 214 pounds), but his speed has faded since the start of his career. He’s at his best finding space against zone coverages, and tries to win in man-to-man coverage with his post up skills and leverage from his size.

Been waiting for the Pats to start signing more guys like this, cheap vet WRs and DTs. Most intriguing about Jenkins, at least on the surface, is his size.
