Bill Belichick sends New England Patriots message in film class – ESPN Boston

BB stoking the fire a bit. As I wrote yesterday, I expect we’ll see a pissed off Pats team that is 100 percent focused this weekend. Still might not be enough against the Broncos, but I’d bet the Pats leave it all on the field.

Greetings from the Ministry of Propaganda

I’ll be live-blogging tonight’s game so there won’t be much from me on the blog or twitter until afterwards. I’ll send up a link to the live blog once I’m up and running over there.

For now just this little bit of history being made tonight…

Tonight will be Brady’s 185th start under Belichick – most by a QB under 1 HC in @nfl history, passing Marino & Shula (184)

Bill Belichick Conference Call Transcript

Bill Belichick Conference Call Transcript

Q: According to last year’s statistics, Carolina led the league in read-option plays. Has going against other read-option teams already this year helped you in your preparation for Monday night’s game?

BB: I think our exposure to it going all the way back to Philadelphia in preseason, working against the Eagles and of course we saw some of it last year, especially against San Francisco. We knew coming into the season this was going to be an area we needed to make sure that we had enough defense for and we spent enough time so our players understood their different responsibilities with this type of offense.

The Texans released Ed Reed, and while I’m not really sure how much he has left in the tank, I do know that BB has as big of a player crush on him as anyone he’s ever coached against. Just like I said this offseason, never rule it out when BB admires a player like that. Remember what Junior Seau supposedly had left in the tank? And they brought him back in 2009.

So with Gregory out a couple weeks the question is whether or not Reed is a better option than Duron Harmon at strong safety. Going against Peyton Manning in a couple weeks, I’d think Reed’s savvy might come in handy. We’ll see…

I know there are a lot of opinions on the whole Miami thing, but I’m not one that has one, just because I don’t feel like I have enough knowledge or information about the situation to have an intelligent one.

And that’s why I refuse to comment on the Miami mess as well…

Bill Belichick’s beginnings – ESPN Boston

Must-watch!!

“One of the things that I respect most about my dad is the number of Midshipmen later on who have come back to tell me stories about [him], they learned a lot more from him off the field, about being a man, and life lessons than they did football lessons, although there were a plenty of those, too,” Bill said. “I think he gave a lot of tough love that we all need; I need it. It was a tougher love but it was a compassionate love.”

Patriots Trade for Tight End Michael Roberts

In a move that should surprise exactly no one, the Patriots traded with the Lions for tight end Michael Roberts. After the departure of Austin Seferian-Jenkins, the Patriots depth was a little scary with Ben Watson facing a four-game suspension. I wrote about the tight end situation a lot this offseason. After losing Gronk and […]
