Let’s check out Thomas Dimitroff’s “counter-culture appearance”

January 7, 2011 by Mike Dussault

Today Mike Reiss posted a quote from Michael Silver of Yahoo Sports says of Thomas Dimitroff:

“Dimitroff was once one of these behind-the-scenes standouts, a former area scout who’d at first been marginalized because of his counter-culture appearance and vegetarian diet but had risen through the Patriots’ front-office ranks because he turned out to be damn good at what he did.

So it got me to thinking, what exactly does "counter culture appearance’ mean? I remember Dimitroff from his time from the Pats. The only thing I remember about his was that he looked kinda Russian-y.

So I searched the Google and found some pics to find out what kind of look Dimitroff was rocking that was so far out there.

This is how I remember Dimitroff. A little scruffy and messy haired, but the guy was a scout so I’m sure he was living at Gillette Stadium at the time.  Nothing too crazy.

Look who got promoted! Nice suit. Hair styled. Still nothing out of the ordinary.

Again, average football dude.

Oh boss, you are sooo funny!!

Wait a minute. Hair going full spike everywhere. A half assed mustache coming in. Maybe this is a little counter culture.

Nope. Well spoken, smart dude wearing a polo and khaki shorts. I guess I’m left to believe counter culture is having spiky hair and occasional scruff? And being a vegetarian? I don’t get it.

Pats Posits: The Preseason Is Over. Here We Go.

The Patriots’ 2017 preseason is over. We can stop worrying about premature injuries (we actually got a couple of those this year) and focus on the real football campaign which the team is about to undertake. Yes, it’s September and as Bill Belichick says “it’s football time.” The preseason finale against the Giants, featuring a […]
