Mike, Greetings from Chicago. Just wondering what of Mark Harrison. I know Dobson is starting to grow within the offense, and KT is a good complimentary WR along with Jules, and Amendola, however im itching too see a combo of dobson, harrison and gronk play. Talk about physical mismatches if this offense ever becomes a reality. What are your thoughts about Harrison? Do you think we will see him soon or will he go like Kamar Aiken etc.?

Looks like we might have to wait until next year with Harrison. This week is the deadline for PUP players to start practicing and BB said neither he nor Armond Armstead are looking like they’ll be ready.

I agree, Harrison is an intriguing prospect and ultimately a red shirt year behind the scenes won’t be the worst thing for him. Competition will be tight at receiver next year in camp with so many talented rookies this year and who knows who they’ll draft or bring in next year.

He’s been a guy who’s been a workhorse, coming in and studying, preparing really hard,” McCourty said. “I think the best thing about it as you’ve seen is when he’s gotten opportunities he’s made plays. He just has to continue to work hard and do what he’s been doing.

Duron Harmon is confident he can step up in place of Steve Gregory, if needed | masslive.com

Hoping Gregory is back for the Broncos, because if he’s not there’s going to be a big target on Harmon’s back.

The Texans released Ed Reed, and while I’m not really sure how much he has left in the tank, I do know that BB has as big of a player crush on him as anyone he’s ever coached against. Just like I said this offseason, never rule it out when BB admires a player like that. Remember what Junior Seau supposedly had left in the tank? And they brought him back in 2009.

So with Gregory out a couple weeks the question is whether or not Reed is a better option than Duron Harmon at strong safety. Going against Peyton Manning in a couple weeks, I’d think Reed’s savvy might come in handy. We’ll see…

Patriots-Panthers Preview

November 12, 2013 by Mike Dussault

The New England Patriots finally looked like the real Patriots two weeks ago, when they put on a 55-31 drubbing on a relatively solid defense in the Pittsburgh Steelers. After weeks of Tom Brady having to deal with an inconsistent and less-than-healthy offensive supporting cast, week nine offered up his healthiest weapons since the season started – with only running back Shane Vereen not at his disposal. That lead to the 55-point explosion, and had Patriots fans everywhere thinking of 2007 again.

With the gritty Carolina Panthers hosting New England in Week 11, the Pats better hope that’s the case. After all, Carolina has five straight wins to their name, including a tough road victory against the battle-tested San Francisco 49ers. The Patriots have been no stranger to solid defenses and close games in 2013, though, as six of their games in 2013 have been decided by a touchdown or less.

Still, as battle-tested as the Pats clearly are in 2013, they have yet to face a team as hot as the Panthers. The intense matchup is actually a reasonable $245 on average this week, with a slick get-in tag of just $81. Despite the tough matchup for the Pats, this one is 6% cheaper than the average price for Patriots tickets on the road this year, while this one is an incredible 70% more expensive than normal Carolina Panthers tickets at home.

New England is on the road against a hot team that just beat the 49ers, so no one would be all that upset or surprised if they dropped to 7-3 here. However, their two losses one the year came when their team was far from 100 percent. Now, with their roster finally getting healthy it may be exactly what the Patriots need to get to 8-2. One thing is for sure, though, that New England with Rob Gronkowski, Danny Amendola and Shane Vereen can’t be music to the Panthers’ ears.

Even if Brady is one of the most accurate throwers in NFL history, his deliveries are not always on the money – purposefully so, Jenkins said, to maintain an admirable touchdown-to-interception ratio. So a receiver had better be prepared to field a low or high throw or one that requires him to leave his feet. […]
