Tom is one of the toughest players I’ve ever had to coach, because when you walk into a meeting with Tom, he’s already seen every game. Like the Colts. He’s already seen every game the Colts have played defensively. “So you can’t go in there unprepared, you can’t go in there saying, ‘Well, I don’t know if they’re going to do this,’ because he’ll say, ‘Did you see the Tennessee game? That’s what they did.’ "You have to be as well-prepared as he is. And that’s a good thing but it’s also a hard thing. You can’t throw the curveball by him. You better know what you’re talking about, because he does.”

Good stuff from Alen Dumonjic, looking back at BB’s game plan against the K-gun in 1991. Very curious to see if there are any defensive twists this weekend against Manning. Most wouldn’t be surprised if BB did the same thing he did the first time around, especially with a better-run stopper in the middle.

Realistically, how do you think this game will play out?

January 17, 2014 by Mike Dussault

Pats come out a little tight, spot Peyton a lead (not 24-0), somewhere in the 10 or 14 to 0 or 3 area. Pats settle in and come back, playing lights out in the third.

Game comes down to late in the fourth quarter where the Patriots either close it out with their running game leading the way, or Peyton puts up one last drive to either win it or lose it.

Should we really expect Jamie Collins do replicate the game he had against the colts?

January 17, 2014 by Mike Dussault

I agree this is a concern and as I said on the podcast this morning I really think Collins needs to be a key defender if the Pats are going to win one or two more games.

He doesn’t need to be all-everything unstoppable like he was against the Colts, but he needs to continue to play with confidence and let the game come to him.

He’ll have his hands full this weekend with Julius Thomas (at times, not all the time), but look for him to get sent after Peyton a few times, especially in the second half.

His future is bright, but we can’t expect too much out of Collins, especially not singlehandedly carry them to a Super Bowl title.

Tom Brady has to stop with the Interceptions. I heard the “Losing Sucks interview and at the end of the interview one of the guys said Brady is playing like Matt Shaub. Thats scary and overreacting. Your thoughts.

Let’s take a walk down memory lane. It was 2010 and Tom Brady just turned in the following stat line in the second half against the Jets in New York: 7-of-16 (43.8%) for 69 yards and 2 interceptions. He had Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez in that game, and would go […]
