Teams reaching out on WR Steve Smith: Ravens, Patriots, Chargers, Redskins, Seahawks. Smith expected to talk to Ravens’ Gary Kubiak tonight.

Yup, I’m all over this one, he’d be just the shot of aggressive attitude I feel like the passing game needs. He’d be motivated too, that’s for sure.
Early reports are that the Ravens are “the favorite” to land him, whatever that means, but when you have TFB and you reach out to a receiver they’d be smart to listen.
Here we go: Former Panthers WR Steve Smith is scheduled to fly tonight to Baltimore to spend Friday meeting with Ravens, per source.

Patriots defensive tackle Tommy Kelly has restructured the final year of his contract, creating about $800,000 in cap space for the team.
Tommy Kelly restructures pact – New England Patriots Blog – ESPN
This is good for two reasons. 1) Kelly will be back and the Pats are protected if he’s not the same player coming off the ACL injury, and 2) More cap space opened up.

29. New England Patriots (12-4): Stephon Tuitt, defensive lineman, Notre Dame
The well is running dry at defensive end/tackle in free agency. If the Patriots go to a 3-4 front next season, Tuitt can play five-technique defensive end, but if Bill Belichick sticks with a 4-3, Tuitt can play three-technique defensive tackle. He’s an ideal fit for the defense.

With Hageman off the board, Kyed goes Tuitt. Totally on board with that, they’re my top two right now.

29. Ra’Shede Hageman. New England obviously made a major move in free agency with the addition of Darrelle Revis, and I think the future of the defensive line could be a good place to focus their efforts. Undrafted rookies Chris Jones and Joe Vellano put in far too many reps last year, and it’s time the Patriots added some ceiling at the position. Hageman is inconsistent given his physical talent, but good coaching could be the trick.
Welcome Mel Kiper to the latest Patriots mock draft trend with Ra’Shede Hagemen. Now it’s possibly even more likely with the probable release of Vince Wilfork.

Wide receiver Wes Welker: “I can’t thank you all enough for coming out here. You guys are the best. You guys are the reason that we’re in the spot we’re in, because we had home-field advantage coming in, and we were able to take advantage of it, and now we’re in the Super Bowl. And […]
