Why Dominique Easley is a risk who will reward the Patriots | theScore

Great read on Easley from Alen Dumonjic. Well-written and sums up exactly why I’m so excited to add him to the fold.

Roy Finch: Patriots Are Getting An ‘Exciting Player’ in Undrafted Running Back – Extra Points – Boston.com

Great read from Frenz on a guy who could be the next Danny Woodhead.

Gallon was trusted as a sole split end in loaded personnel for quarterbacks Denard Robinson and Devin Gardner. In the every-down set, he carved a spot as a flanker. He created separation on double-move fades, post routes and dig routes under that capacity. But he was a go-to option on quick-outs and fire screens as well. It was because his reliable hands, vision and suddenness allowed him to turn short plays into long ones. He reinforced those qualities by consistently setting his feet in position for the run after.

Hey Mike. Appreciate your coverage on the Pats. What are your thoughts on Justin Jones? Potential starter? He sounds like a freak (6’8″ with a 37″ vert) which makes a pretty huge catching radius or redzone threat? Especially with Gronk banged up I think he could come in and be a legitimate threat or at least mismatch for other teams? Thoughts?

Yeah, it sounds like the Pats have had their eye on him for a while. Like most tight ends coming out of college he’ll have to develop his blocking, but his size and ability to catch the ball are intriguing.

But we thought the same thing about Zach Sudfeld last year and he didn’t quite live up to some of the plays he made in training camp and the preseason.

Jones will be one to watch this summer.

You don’t seem high on Zach Moore. Why?

May 16, 2014 by Mike Dussault

Not that I’m not high on him, I think he’s going to need time to develop. Really like his size and versatility, but I think it will take a red shirt year for him as a rookie, possibly on the practice squad. Who knows, maybe it all clicks for him and he becomes a reliable backup option with Buchanan. That would be great for the Pats, but maybe a little bit of a tall order for a guy coming out of Concordia.

Long-term he could be a great all-down defensive end, maybe even overtaking Ninkovich at some point.

Notes on the New England Patriots Pro Bowlers

Six Patriots made the Pro Bowl, and for most of them it was a well-deserved honor. Tom Brady and Vince Wilfork are clearly deserving as they’ve been playing at a top level all season. Many knocked the first round selection of “mainly special teamer” Devin McCourty, but now we see that McCourty is the next […]
