Patriots placing C David Andrews & LB Josh Uche on IR, promote three from practice squad

September 26, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

First reported by Field Yates, the Patriots have placed C David Andrews and LB Josh Uche on IR.

The Patriots are placing starting C David Andrews and second round LB Josh Uche on IR, per source.

James Ferentz will be promoted from the practice squad and could start on Sunday vs. the Raiders.

— Field Yates (@FieldYates) September 26, 2020

Both players were ruled out of Sunday’s game and now will miss at least three weeks. Andrews is a huge loss for the offensive front, there was some discussion that Andrews may attempt to snap using his left hand, but now he heads for a break on the sidelines.

Uche, who has been on and off injury reports since camp will now have an extended period of time to recover from a foot injury. Frustrating, but hopefully he’ll be ready to get involved when he returns.

Week 3 Injury Report – 9/23

September 23, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

The first injury report of the week was published today, an indication at who may miss out on Sunday’s game against the Raiders.

New England Patriots

DID NOT PARTICIPATE
C David Andrews (Hand)
RB James White (Not injury related)
LIMITED
DL Adam Butler (Shoulder)
LB Brandon Copeland (Knee)
WR Julian Edelman (Knee)
WR N’Keal Harry (Ankle)

Andrews is the main concern out of today’s report, nothing has been reported on the extent of the injury, but for him to miss a session, it can’t be good. Be prepared to see some movement across the offensive line on Sunday if Andrews doesn’t make a quick recovery. James White is understandably still absent following the tragic death of his father on Sunday.

Patriots vs Seahawks – Player Ups & Downs

September 22, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

(AP Photo/John Froschauer)

A loss that feels kinda like a win, do you get what I mean? Sunday night filled me with optimism for the rest of the season, after all, we went toe to toe with one of the best teams in the league. Here’s Sunday’s ups & downs.

Ups ⬆️

Cam Newton
After proving he could still run the ball effectively last week, Newton put up the highest amount of passing yards for a Patriots offense in three years on Sunday night. Whilst still rushing for two TDs, he showed superb accuracy to his receivers, who all stepped up to help him. Had a few wayward passes and threw a pick, but all in all, another up week for Cam.

Here goes Cam…TOUCHDOWN!

Julian Edelman
Any questions about Edelman’s commitment to the team were answered. He racked up career-high 179 yards from 8 catches, and at times flew around the field like it was his first game in the league. Aside from the big game statistically speaking, the chemistry between Cam and Jules is growing every week, and I think they can be a formidable force this year.

James White to miss tonight’s game following the passing of his father

September 20, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

Just tragic news within the last hour, James White is inactive for tonight’s game following the passing of his father, Tyrone, in a car crash earlier today.

Sad news to report. Patriots' RB James White's father was in a car crash today and did not survive. His mother was also in the car and is in critical condition.

White's father, Tyrone, was a captain with the Miami-Dade Police Department.

James was told and is inactive tonight.

— Andy Slater (@AndySlater) September 20, 2020

Andy Slater first reported the news after the Patriots announced the inactive list for tonight’s matchup against Seattle. White’s mother was also involved in the collision and is in critical condition this evening.

Can confirm. Terrible news. Hence White being inactive this evening. https://t.co/3RLiIjSt95

— Mike Giardi (@MikeGiardi) September 20, 2020

I’m not going to talk about how his absence may impact tonight’s game, because it doesn’t matter. My thoughts are with James and his family tonight, may his father rest in peace.
