With Tom Brady serving the first of his four-game suspension for his role in “Deflategate”, Jimmy Garoppolo started in his place.

It didn’t take long for him to get off to the perfect start, on the Patriots first drive, Garoppolo saw Chris Hogan open deep and found him for a 37-yard touchdown.

Should the Patriots keep Cam Newton around in 2021?

November 24, 2020 by Jason Pombo

Cam Newton shares his Thanksgiving menu ahead of the holiday

The simple answer is no.

After nine starts, the former MVP has proven to not be the savior in New England. The expectations of Newton were through the roof once the former Carolina Panthers quarterback signed in New England. Many expected him to be in the conversation for the Comeback Player of the Year award, and have the Patriots in charge of the AFC East. But, that just has not been the case… at least to this point.

Patriots vs Texans – Player Ups & Downs

November 23, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Any playoff hopes the Patriots had are now all but faded after a disappointing loss to Houston yesterday. Here are the ups and downs from Week 11.

Ups ⬆️

Damiere Byrd

After the spotlight was focused on Jakobi Meyers during the past few weeks, Damiere Byrd has flown under the radar, but yesterday, he had a big day! 6/7, 132 yards, and a touchdown for Byrd as he led the passing attack, it was one of the few highlights from an otherwise disappointing day.

Happy to see both Byrd and Meyers having some big games in recent weeks, given they could be part of this offense moving into next season..

Patriots release DE Derek Rivers

November 21, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

First reported by Jeff Howe, the Patriots have informed Derek Rivers that he’s being released. Rivers has had a disappointing time in New England following a number of injury-plagued years with the team.

Michel missed six games with a quad injury.

Rivers, a 2017 third-round pick, had 1.5 sacks, 3 QB hits, a pressure and 3 drawn penalties this season.

Froholdt, a 2019 fourth-rounder, was a top backup in camp but had since fallen down the depth chart. https://t.co/2oiyjX9zh0

The Super Bowls, and the Hoodies

November 20, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

Over the years, Bill Belichick has sported many different hoodies and jackets during his tenure as Patriots HC. Now, let’s take a look back at what he wore during every Patriots Super Bowl appearance since he became HC in the year 2000.

Make sure you check out Mike Reiss’ visual feature on the history of Bill Belichick and his hoodie here.

A funny-looking hoodie you may think, but we don’t discriminate, the beginning of the Dynasty took place with this classic Adidas windbreaker. As this bad boy was worn just before the official Belichick Hoodie Database records began, we’re not sure what it’s winning record is.

It’s certainly a HOF candidate given the historical ramifications the game it appeared in had on the Franchise’s history.

These teams have only met 12 times since the Texans became an NFL franchise in 2002, the last time was one to forget.

Kai Forbath opened the scoring for the Patriots with a 23-yard field goal after a long drive into Texans territory stalled. After failing to do anything with the ball on their first drive, Houston punted and Brady went back to work.

That was short-lived however, Brady’s pass intended for N’Keal Harry was intercepted by Bradley Roby, Deshaun Watson then found Duke Johnson who ran it in for a 14-yard score.
