With the performance, Brady is pretty much the all time postseason leader among quarterbacks in just about everything. The Patriots host the winner of the Colts-Broncos game in the AFC title game next Sunday, a record ninth conference title game by Brady. With a win there, he’ll become the first quarterback to make six Super Bowl appearances.

Brady may or may not be the greatest QB of all time. That debate will continue forever. But he’s certainly the most accomplished QB of all time, in terms of the combination of both individual stats and team results.

I got a crazy one for you. So say Hoyer did tear his ACL, done for the year. Lombardi comes calling for Belichick, works out a trade for Mallett, Mallett goes to Cleveland to start, and the Patriots decide to take yet another Schiano cast off and sign Freeman as a back up. How likely or unlikely do you think this is of happening?

My mind is spinning! Think it might be a stretch to think the Pats would trade Mallet in-season. That would really make it scary if Brady were to ever miss any time and there’s no backup with any experience in the system. I could see Lombardi making a push for Mallett next year, but I […]
