@PatsPropaganda How do you think that offense will evolve next season? More 2TE sets? More/less tempo/no-huddle? More/less pressure on qb?

— Magnus Nordman (@Mango_00) May 15, 2015

I think it’s hard to really predict at the moment, other than to say the Pats have set themselves up to really have some great competition at the skill position spots. I especially look at guys like Amendola and Dobson at the receiver spots, maybe Tyms too, and Tim Wright, Scott Chandler and Fred Davis at the tight end position. How those six perform in the preseason, and perhaps most importantly who stays healthy, will determine exactly what we’ll see from the Patriots offense this season

Last year the Pats didn’t run a snap with four receivers on the field at one time, and while that could be an indication of how they felt about their depth, I still think their preference is multiple tight ends over multiple receivers. It’s just a more physical brand of football and one that is easier to dictate the matchups from. So in a perfect world I think you’d see more sets with Wright/Chandler on the field to compliment the base guys of Edelman, LaFell and Gronk.

As for tempo I think they’ll be better set up to put the hammer down with guys like Wright and Chandler than they were last year when Wright joined the offense late and had to catch up. Now they have a bunch of guys with experience in the system and they’ll have a full offseason with the new guys to catch them up to speed. I continue to think that the up-tempo offense is a tool for specific spots and not a permanent way of running things. The biggest question in that regard just might be which running back is able to pick it up, especially who’s replacing Vereen, whether it’s Cadet or White.

Pats Propaganda

Maybe I’ll regret this but let’s have at it with a Friday Q & A. Extra points for non-deflaabaa questions, you know, ones about actual football perhaps…

Please be advised that the NFLPA and Mr. Brady intend to call both you and Commissioner Goodell as essential witnesses in the proceeding. You both will be called upon to testify about, among other things, the circumstances surrounding the purported delegation of
disciplinary authority from Commissioner Goodell to you in this matter and the factual basis for that purported delegation. You also will both be required to testify about when you became aware of the Colts’ complaints about ball deflation and what decisions and steps were thereafter taken to set up what may have been a “sting operation” to try to implicate the Patriots and Mr. Brady

Tom Brady and the NFLPA Appeal His Suspension

This thing just keeps getting juicier and juicier. So Goodell thinks he’ll just appoint himself to hear the appeal, well it’s kinda tough to do that when you’re being called as a witness as well. To save everyone some time he should just uphold the stupid and overreaching punishment so this thing can go where it’s going to end up anyway – a higher court with an actual neutral judge.

FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | 2015 Broken Tackles: Defenses

The Pats were best tackling defense in the NFL this past year, but I’m sure that has something to do with deflated footballs too, right?

Mr. Jastremski and Mr. McNally were obviously uninhibited texters, sending communications with no thought that anyone else would ever see them. They certainly would not have cursed at the team’s quarterback if they thought their texts would ever see the light of day. Perhaps most revealing, then, is that not a single text states that: (i) Brady wanted footballs set below 12.5 psi; (ii) there was a plan to deflate footballs after the referee inspected them; or (iii) there was any actual such deflation. Nonetheless, the report assumes that every text reference to inflation or deflation of footballs suggests there was a plot to improperly deflate footballs after the referee’s inspection. In reality, there is simply no basis to assume that conclusion.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6vHBI8K7cM Is there anything better than watching the Patriots offense light up the vaunted Steeler D? Nope. They Gronked the crap out of them. (Source: http://www.youtube.com/)
