Jamie Collins hitting home as a Patriots blitzer
Good stuff from Oliver Thomas breaking down the unstoppable Jamie Collins. He’s the perfect linebacker for today’s NFL and the Pats use maximize everything he can do, whether it’s blitzing, covering running backs or laying punishing hits. This guy has superstar written all over him.
Danny Amendola, the one guy in the whole state of Massachusetts unaware he just caught Brady’s 400th touchdown.

Patriots.com Exclusive: Inside the Patriots locker room after beating Jacksonville
Did you ever get the feeling that Matthew Slater just can’t wait to be 60 years old, sitting out on his front steps giving out advice to all the neighborhood kids? Anyway, can never get enough videos from inside the locker room.
You know I’ve been shocked by the number of trades the Pats have made this year. It’s probably worth a full article but at this point in the season the last thing I really feel like doing it sifting through old in-season trade records. So I’ll leave it to someone else.
As for Jonathan Bostic
I think it makes sense on a number of fronts. First is that he’s better than just-extended Jonathan Freeny
and the trickle-down effect then allows them to bump Dekoda Watson off the gameday roster as he was only really a special teamer.
It also relates (in my opinion) to Jerod Mayo
who I spent a good deal of time on twitter last night discussing because he still looks a long way off to me. If the Patriots are forced to play a majority of their regular defensive package with three linebackers, I’m not sure Mayo is up to the task just yet. And to be honest I’m not sure how ready he’ll be this year.
Bostic is also signed through 2016 so he gives you some depth behind Mayo/Collins/Hightower long term. Bostic is a physical middle linebacker, very much in a similar mold to Mayo. He fits well with Collins/Hightower in terms of what he brings to the table.
The timing of the Bears looking to unload him because he doesn’t fit their scheme for just a 6th round pick was perfect. So yeah, I think he’ll see some snaps on defense sooner than later, assuming he gets fully healthy soon.
WEEI.com: In short span of time, Dion Lewis has made himself into integral part of Patriots offense
Really not sure who I’ve got the bigger new crush on – Lewis or Malcolm Butler. Just so many fun players to root for once again, while there was a sizable void at least on defense from 2009-2011.
MassLive.com: New England Patriots offensive line rotation is clicking early in 2015 season
Lot of interesting comments from offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo. Was wondering to myself where the line is between the OL being in competition to find the best five and just managing everyone to not only mitigate injury risk but also insure if/when guys do get injured. After this article it feels more like the latter and it will only get more interesting when Stork and Wendell are back in the fold.
Reiss: How do the Patriots approach the Combine Must read alert for anyone who puts a lot of stock in what Kiper, McShay or even my main man Mayock say. Great excerpt from Scott Pioli a couple years ago: “We prefer to train our own people to scout and look for a specific type of […]
