This isn’t what any of us want to hear but I don’t think anyone breaks down film better than Greg Cosell so I feel obligated to post.
When you evaluate tape, there are so many factors and variables that can be analyzed, too many to discuss at length. After careful consideration, I believe the Giants more explosive passing game will be the difference in a close, tense game that will be competitive through the fourth quarter. I picked the Giants to upset New England in Super Bowl 42, and I see the same result this Sunday. Only this time, it would not be an upset.

Specific to Coach Belichick, I think back to that 2001 championship team and some of the young players that were there, and how it turned them into consistent championship players. If they defeat the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI, you see the potential of that happening with this group. Yes, you have veterans like Brady and Vince Wilfork leading the way, but then you think about Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, Jerod Mayo, Devin McCourty … a player like Patrick Chung, is he your Lawyer Milloy/Rodney Harrison? The potential for another run is there.

According to reporter Alex Marvez, the Patriots concluded their preparations with the light workout, Belichick comparing it to a typical day-before-game routine. Since they arrived in Indianapolis on Sunday (one day before the Giants), the Patriots practiced on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, as well as last week in Foxborough. Tight end Rob Gronkowski was on the field in sweats, sneakers, and a t-shirt, taking part in nothing more than light jogging. He returned to practice yesterday for the first time since injuring his ankle in the AFC Championship. “We’ll see where he’s at on Sunday, but hopefully [he’ll play],” Belichick said. “I saw no setbacks. He’s still making progress.”
