The Patriots went with four different centers on Wednesday against the Giants, as Dan Koppen, Ryan Wendell, Dan Connolly and Donald Thomas all took reps at the position. It was a chance for the Patriots to give a wide variety of players a shot, and perhaps get New England prepared for a year like they had last year when they were forced to go with four different players at center over the course of the season.

This is one of the more interesting positions to watch in the next couple days. If Waters comes back does it slide Connolly to center and make Koppen expendable? I think Wendell and Thomas make it regardless.

Hard not to have a major crush right now on both these rookie safeties. Chung better get healthy quick because his job might not be there for long.

Tavon Wilson/Nate Ebner – Rookie safety duo starts as both also play in the dime. Ebner continues to make an impression, with a pass breakup and later a special-teams tackle.

Here’s pretty much the only highlight you need to see from last night’s snoozer that ended yet again with the Patriots losing to the Giants on a late score. Kinda over those. But not quite as over we’ll all be with these replacement refs once the bullets are real.
