Don’t you think it’s a little un-Patriotlike to let Lloyd and Welker walk? Assuming they resign Edelman, get someone in FA and/or the draft, that still seems like a lot of eggs in a few baskets.

I agree, I think there’s an argument to be made for Lloyd sticking around, even for a slightly-high $3 million. While not great, Lloyd was pretty good and did show some chemistry with Brady. He had some acrobatic catches, and should develop even more of a rhythm with Brady with another offseason of work.

I’d like to see them add at least a couple veterans and a rookie at wide receiver. Regardless of what happens with Welker.

An offseason to-do list for the New England Patriots – Sports – The Boston Globe

An offseason to-do list for the New England Patriots – Sports – The Boston Globe

Interesting stuff from Bedard on his offseason plan and surely some stuff that will a lot of Patriots fans won’t agree with. I’ve already said that I think Welker is most likely to walk, as unfortunate as that is.

I’m not as confident as he seems in replacing Vollmer, and I’d lean toward making a bigger push to re-signing him, though right tackle is not the hardest position in the world to fill. The decision to let Brandon Lloyd go as well would be ballsy to say the least, but as I’ve said I’m all for some offensive evolution this offseason.

If I’m the Patriots, I let Welker walk, I don’t pay Brandon Lloyd’s $3 million option (making him a free agent), and I use that money to find the best X receiver on the market to threaten defenses down the left sideline. Lloyd was close, but not quite the right guy. He could also come in the draft if the Patriots can identify, for the first time since Deion Branch and David Givens in 2002, a real talent.

Yes please. Seems like there’s a number of talented defensive tackles that should be available at the bottom of the first round, early in the second.

The Best of PatsPropaganda This Week

February 9, 2013 by Mike Dussault

The offseason continues as we slowly make our way toward the start of the new league year, free agency and all that other fun that will get us through until the draft. Some great breakdowns rolled in this week, and as the Patriots themselves are doing, we’re primarily focused internally on the team with their own self-evaluations and free agents.

Here’s the best stuff….

Hey man who are the rookies to keep an eye on? Or if you have an article please

Here are my Patriots rookie power rankings for the regular season: 1. Malcom Brown – he just might already be their best big defensive tackle and should pair with Dominique Easley to form a deadly combination inside at times. Still, there will be plenty of rotation with the other bigs like Siliga and Branch, but […]
