This too…
Ahhh the NFL combine. When prospective pro athletes get trotted out onto a field in nothing but tight spandex and try as hard as they can to impress groups of old men.
They jump
Make spectacular catches
Run really, really fast
Rub their legs?
Fall over?
Get tripped by invisible wires?
Prance like girly men?
And are judged the whole time….
While Bill Belichick dreams of Tom Brady
I’ve just never seen it with Mike Wallace. Pittsburgh has a notoriously simple offense, where Wallace would do nothing more than run fast down the field and catch the ball. Things are far from that simple in New England. Receivers need to get to the line, read the defense and determine one of as many as three routes Brady will want them to run.
Instead of spending all that money on another free agent WR who may or may not “get it”, I think the Pats need to go after one in the draft. There should be plenty of them available that fit the mold (like Justin Hunter who I mocked to them in my latest mock draft today). It’s a safer move financially, and it will allow the Pats to develop the receiver from the ground up so to speak.
I don’t want to talk about this on the radio or anywhere else for that matter,” Brady wrote to Dennis. “Athletes are always talking about money at a time when everyone else is struggling so badly to make it. We all make way more than our fair share. And I just think it reflects poorly on myself and my teammates. I really do just want to win, and that has and will continue to be the reason that motivates me and is the biggest factor in my decision-making process.

Should the New England Patriots Move on from Brandon Lloyd?
Good breakdown from Frenz…
Probably not as disappointed as Brady would be. At this point I’d put the odds close to 95% that they get something done with Welker.
Reminder…
