He’s an amazing kid; a great, competitive kid. Loved him on our team. He was a big factor, and we hated to have to move on without him,” Carroll said. “The Patriots are getting a guy who’s there every minute. He’s a great practice player, very savvy game player, very determined to prove himself, which is what you love about him.

The league has resolved itself to bring all salaries under control – the NFL would live to have more options in terms of markets, positions, franchise tenders and the like, but mainly they are just trying to lower all the bars to get salaries back to where they should be across the market,” added a third agent. “The feeling around the league is ‘No more players who aren’t elite should be paid as elite just because they got to free agency,’ and all the teams know what everyone is willing to pay. They talk more than ever, and if you price your guy out of the market, you’re screwed.

Great read from Chris about one of the most interesting, and unpredicted elements of the this year’s free agency market.

Oh Tuck Rule, you are gone, but you are not forgotten. We only had but one sweet night together. But that memory will last a lifetime. Fare thee well, friend.

So long, Tuck Rule! Thanks for everything.

Tom Brady gets UNREAL with the Easter Bunny – Sorry Bunny Touchdown Dance (by unreal)

The best of a collection of new Brady videos, one that might give the Jets a little flashback to the 45-3 beatdown in 2010. I have to say, it’s taken over a decade but Brady’s acting is finally starting to improve… a bit.

Why do you think the pats are willing to spend a 3rd rounder on sanders when a capable Danario Alexander hasn’t been tendered by the chargers. I know he’s had numerous knee surgeries but the signing of amendola shows they’re not scared of signing players with injury history.

I do like Alexander, but I think it’s more a chronic knee issue with him whereas Amendola was a couple freak collision injuries that shouldn’t linger. But in terms of size I’d love to get someone as big as Alexander for the outside. It’s shaping up more and more to look like the Pats will pounce on at least a couple WRs in the draft. I’m all for it. Let’s get some youth and explosion!

The Tuck Rule change has passed overwhelmingly, I’m told. No, not retroactive. Sorry, #Raiders

The Patriots have kicked the tires on the restricted free agent, and while there’s no offer sheet as of yet, it’s easy to see why the Patriots would be interested in the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder. While it’s one thing to consider his surface numbers (in his three-year career with the Steelers, Sanders has 94 receptions for 1,290 yards and five touchdowns), one of the things that fairly jumps off the page is his overall agility numbers he posted while at SMU. As a collegian at SMU, Sanders not only displayed the requisite straight-line speed — he had a 4.4 40-yard dash — but also flashed great agility, posting a 6.6 time in the 3-cone drill, the second-best time that year among the receivers.

Wes Welker needs four catches in the season opener to become the Patriots’ all-time leader in receptions. Troy Brown’s 557 catches is currently the top mark, a total that took 15 seasons to accumulate (1993-2007). Welker enters his sixth season with the Patriots in 2012, making the imminent accomplishment that much more impressive. Quick-hit thoughts […]
