LeGarrette Blount a Long Shot to Make Patriots Roster
So long Jeff Demps, much less excited about anything Blount might bring to the table.
It will be certainly a new receiving group for us, in our chemistry and timing and execution and all that. They have a long way to go to blend in with some of our other veteran players on the offensive side of the ball. But hopefully those guys will all be able to grow together with our relatively young tight ends and fairly young group of backs, and become productive in the passing game and overall offensively as well.

Flashback: My first 2013 mock draft Post-Super Bowl
Flashback: My first 2013 mock draft Post-Super Bowl
In this, my first mock draft of the 2013 right after the Super Bowl, I had both Dobson and Boyce. It just goes to show that research is overrated I guess…
Q: What do you feel is your strength as a player?
JB: I’m really smart so I think I can pick up things pretty quick. I see a lot of things before they happen, so I think my mind is what’s working for me a lot of times.

Josh Boyce to Patriots: How Does the Wide Receiver Fit with New England?
Josh Boyce to Patriots: How Does the Wide Receiver Fit with New England?
Really like this pick for the Pats. Perfect complimentary piece to Dobson and Amendola.
Like that the Patriots have double dipped at receiver, and with two guys who can help outside the numbers. The lack of viable threats there has really hampered the offense in the biggest games. Certainly like the speed and the smarts on Boyce. He won’t see the field if he doesn’t catch or block well, but those are things that, hopefully, can be refined. Hearing from a lot of scouts that Boyce’s foot fracture likely caused his drop from about a third-round level. A good prospect with a lot of potential with the type of skills that are needed in this offense.
