What roll, if any, can you see Tim Tebow playing in the offense or even the whole team? Obviously he won’t be under center, and he is way too expensive to have just to ride the bench.

Did a full article for B/R on that very topic, check it out here. The comments from the overzealous Tebow fans might be the most entertaining part of the whole thing.

With jones being released do you think Jenkins is close behind?

July 25, 2013 by Mike Dussault

No, I think Jenkins will get a lot of reps early in camp and he needs to take advantage of them. If he performs poorly and gets passed by Dobson before mid-August, then he’s gone. A lot of pundits have him making the team, and it’s an understandable safe move, but I’d prefer just to throw as many young guys out there as possible, take our licks early, with the hope that once it all comes together, this offense will be young and explosive for the next few seasons.

I dont think the wide recievers will be a problem. They have Tom Brady throwing them the ball. I would rather a team with a superstar quaterback and alright recievers than a team with an alright quaterback and superstar wide recievers.

I agree. As I’ve said before I think the success of the 2013 team depends on the defense. There might be moments early on where the offense sputters, but ultimately I think they’ll be fine. Maybe not as dominant with their no huddle as they were last year, but perhaps more explosive and unpredictable.

There are no more excuses for the defense. They are loaded with high-round draft picks, have a core that is just entering its prime and has played together for the better part of the last three seasons.

I’m not really sure i agree with so many pundits saying Chandler Jones is going to have a massive breakout sophomore campaign. He never seemed to generate much of a rush and seemed to be manhandled by more elite teams.

July 25, 2013 by Mike Dussault

If you read my quick post from yesterday you know I agree with you. Part of it might go back to the fact that I (along with many others) were never high on him to begin with. Doesn’t mean I don’t think he can and will be a good player. But I think the automatic assumption that he’s a 10+ sack guy is little too optimistic. I will really have a critical eye on him in camp, and really need to see him stay healthy and show the same kind of athleticism he demonstrated early last season.

QB Fitzpatrick to TE Chandler, 20-yd, pass, TD – NFL Videos

QB Fitzpatrick to TE Chandler, 20-yd, pass, TD – NFL Videos

Putting together a final piece on 2012 for tomorrow, picking out three specific plays that sum up the Patriots problems from last season. This one almost made the cut but it’s still a pretty good representation of why the Pats were destroyed by tight ends, and destroyed by 20+ passes.

He’s the master with the media. He really is,” Tucker said. “I’ve never quite understood why it’s that important to him. I was talking to Chad Brown yesterday, who played a couple of seasons for the Pats. I played for five teams, Chad played for three teams in 15 years, a bunch of different coaches. Neither one of us had ever had a coach emphasize the media nearly as much as Belichick. It’s not even close. It’s the No. 1 topic of conversation in every team meeting. And Chad even said … he’s almost like a media coach as much as a football coach. I never really understood why it was that high of a priority for him, but I guess it’s hard to argue with the results.

(no title)

Taking some time away from the fallout today to start turning the page to the offseason. Instead of rehashing the loss I’d prefer to just look back fondly on the rest of what was a highly-entertaining season that saw the Pats overcome more than they ever have. I don’t need to hear excuses or watch […]
