It’s all about precision route-running,“ he said. "Getting yourself in the right position to get the ball. If you run a route a yard too deep or a yard too short, the ball might be off a little bit, and it’s all about precision. That’s why we practice every day and meet for so long and watch all the film. That’s what it’s all about.”

Looking back, do you think that they didn’t run as much as people expected was because they wanted to get the kinks out of the passing game earlier and do you expect them to start to run a little more

Part of it has to do with the weather early in the season and I’m sure that factored into managing Ridley a bit, he seemed to wear down a bit at the end of last season. But there’s no question they had to find out what they had with their passing game early in the season, so we saw a lot of different options. Now they’re settling in with what they like best – Dobson at the X, a rotation of Edelman and Amendola at the Z, and Gronk in the middle.

It will be interesting to see if there are any adjustments to that coming out of the bye week. Perhaps Amendola starts to get more time than Edelman.

Ultimately, I think the Pats drew up each game plan mainly being what they thought they needed to do to win.

Why do you think mankins play has been so poor this season

I’m as surprised as anyone. I thought a year removed from an ACL injury he’d have a great season. He could be fighting an injury of some kind as well. Remember he played a chunk of 2011 on a torn ACL.

He’ll have his work cut out for him this week. It’s the perfect chance to turn his season around.

Can I just put it out there that I am so nervous for this season because we did so good last year and I though this would be our year but it’s definitely not and it’s making my life much more stressful.

If it’s not our year there should be nothing to worry about, right? I haven’t given up hope just yet on this season. When you look at the AFC it’s still not a stretch to see the Pats as the last team standing.

Beating the top NFC team might be another matter in the Super Bowl, but in one game anything can happen. The next two games will tell us a lot about the 2013 Pats.

They will fight down to the end, it’s just a question if the injuries catch up to them in key spots. So far they’ve overcome.
