What are the chances you think we have of running the table for our next 6 games? I’m all honesty.

November 21, 2014 by Mike Dussault

There’s a loss in there and that’s fine. It’s probably going to come in Green Bay and I wouldn’t be shocked to see them lose to the Chargers too if the game unfolded just right.

I go back to 2007. A loss can be a good thing. Especially with the Pats flying high right now. I’d much prefer to be a little under the radar going into the playoffs, but that’s hard to do while still getting the top seed.

It’s also good to be humbled a bit before the playoffs. The idea of peaking after Thanksgiving is a bit overblown. The team that wins the Super Bowl peaks in January and February.

So in a perfect world, they take a hard-fought loss in Green Bay. Right the ship in San Diego, then close out the season with three-straight AFC East wins sewing up the top seed in the AFC.

The real question is whether or not Miami has what it takes to win in New England, especially if their playoff chances are still on the line.

Of course the biggest thing is just staying healthy. I’d rather take 2-3 losses and end up the 3 or 4 seed than lose a key piece in December like we’ve had happen the last three seasons.

Do you think Danny Amendola puts up an 7+ catch, 100+ yard game anytime soon? Feel like teams will try to focus on JE11, Gronk, and LaFell and we’ll have to count on Danny sometime VERY soon

November 21, 2014 by Mike Dussault

Yeah I agree, I’m waiting for him to have one of those games. I think the problem to this point is that no one has been able to completely shut down 87, 19 and 11 yet. And really none of them have had a bad game yet.

Amendola as their WR is a luxury the Pats really haven’t had since the days of Jabar Gaffney/Donte Stallworth. I know he gets judged on his salary and the media’s judgement of him specifically being the “Welker replacement”, but we’re going to need him at some point and I have a feeling he’ll come through.

At the very least I really like what he’s brought to the kickoff returns as well as some spot punt return duty to take some of the load off of Edelman.

Foxboro’s a weird place,” Quin said. “You go up there and you’re in a hotel and then you got to drive through like back woods to get there and then all of a sudden a stadium appears like it seems like in people’s backyard and it’s like, just a weird place out there. And they love it. They play great there. I’ve never won there. I’ve played there three or four times, I’ve never won there. It’s tough to win there.

H/T @PatriotsSB49 for this great find!

How do you see things working out with Blount back in the fold, I think they should let gray most of the carries(not prisoner of the moment *kinda* but he looked more explosive to me compared to Blount) then let blount come in and be the bruiser that he is/can be and then vereen can be vereen

November 20, 2014 by Mike Dussault

I don’t think there really needs to be a set plan, though obviously Vereen will handle more of the passing downs and pass-heavy gameplans.

Otherwise, I think you work it somewhat like they did last year with Ridley and Blount. Give both Gray and Blount some carries, see who’s popping and then ride them for that game. Having two big backs, especially one with Blount’s experience, is certainly a good thing heading down the stretch.

It’s about having options and different things to try, something they didn’t have when it was just Gray and Vereen. Not to mention now there’s a level of injury protection as well.
