We call Danny the sheriff. And Julian, he’s working on becoming the deputy. But Danny, he’s the man at Ping-Pong,” Slater said. “I wouldn’t really call them Ping-Pong battles because Julian hardly ever wins. I think Danny is far superior in Ping-Pong.”
Edelman doesn’t dispute that. “It’s always nice to hang out and get whupped in Ping-Pong,” he said. “He’s the champ right now. He’s the sheriff. But I am the deputy.

There have been times when you think you come in early or think you stayed long enough, but there’s always that one car outside,” linebacker Dont’a Hightower said. “It’s never really just one, but I mean, there are probably 10 cars outside, and it’s all coaches. You see it all the time. They’re just as excited about the game plan as we are because they put so much time and effort into it.

Since 2001, New England has lost one home game after leading in the fourth quarter. Every other team has lost at least six. I looked at every fourth-quarter comeback (4QC) opportunity since 2001, including the playoffs. These are defined as games where the offense had possession in the fourth quarter, trailing by 1 to 8 points. Overtime is also included now with the new rules.
Opponents are 1-46 (.021) at 4QC opportunities in New England since 2001. That is absolutely absurd. Including Super Bowls on neutral fields, the record is 3-49 (.058), and Eli Manning has led all three wins.

And I was there for the 1 4QC they lost. Eli sigh…
