Holy Hoodie! Draft week is here!!

April 25, 2011 by Mike Dussault

It has been exactly 99 days since the Patriots 2010 season came crashing down in flames and in that time we’ve thrown ourselves into the draft as much as possible. This will be our fourth offseason that we’ve blogged heavily about the draft and each year I’ve learned something new, yet I still feel like I will be shocked by a Patriots pick of a player that I haven’t even heard of. Oh well, that’s the fun of it.

Possibly the best thing about the draft being this week is the end of all the debate amongst us amateur draftniks as to what the Pats should do. It will also be nice to forget about 90% of the prospects we’ve been studying and talking about, and finally just focus on what the Pats have added.

We’ll be keeping our ears to the ground, because in the final few days before the draft you often get actual real information. Like in 2008 when Michael Holley broke that the Patriots would absolutely get Jerod Mayo just a couple days before they did. Not everything is disinformation as we get closer, but it’s important to remember that some of it definitely still is.

Also we’ve got some great podcast stuff in the works for this week, and we’re in the final stages of locking down some guests for our Saturday and Sunday shows that will blow the minds of Patriots nation. Sincerely. We’ll keep everyone posted as we finalize the details.

Until then enjoy the videos and draft flashbacks we’ll be posting all week. It’s the best week of the off-season and we intend to take full advantage. Because who knows when we’ll have any football news after the draft… UGH…

Patriots Draft Flashback: Radio City boos the Patriots and Jerod Mayo

I’m not posting this video for the video, I’m posting it for the sound. I take great pride in the heavy boos that the Pats receive in New York. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Patriots Draft Flashback: Taylor Price

Hadn’t caught this video before, good stuff. After a red shirt year Price will be one of the most watched players in the training camp this year. Very curious to see what an offseason in the Patriots system has done for him.

Happy Monday! Draft week is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they ever got the running back to go with Wes Welker and those two tight ends, they’re going to be (trouble),” the scout said. “Because you get a tackle-to-tackle running back like an Ingram, and the linebackers will have to play the slot and play the run. BenJarvus is nice because he hits the hole hard. But Ingram is a pounder. What they’ve always wanted to do on offense is control the clock. And when you get a pounder at running back, you can now control the clock.
