Week 3 Injury Report – 9/23

September 23, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

The first injury report of the week was published today, an indication at who may miss out on Sunday’s game against the Raiders.

New England Patriots

DID NOT PARTICIPATE
C David Andrews (Hand)
RB James White (Not injury related)
LIMITED
DL Adam Butler (Shoulder)
LB Brandon Copeland (Knee)
WR Julian Edelman (Knee)
WR N’Keal Harry (Ankle)

Andrews is the main concern out of today’s report, nothing has been reported on the extent of the injury, but for him to miss a session, it can’t be good. Be prepared to see some movement across the offensive line on Sunday if Andrews doesn’t make a quick recovery. James White is understandably still absent following the tragic death of his father on Sunday.

James White to miss tonight’s game following the passing of his father

September 20, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

Just tragic news within the last hour, James White is inactive for tonight’s game following the passing of his father, Tyrone, in a car crash earlier today.

Sad news to report. Patriots' RB James White's father was in a car crash today and did not survive. His mother was also in the car and is in critical condition.

White's father, Tyrone, was a captain with the Miami-Dade Police Department.

James was told and is inactive tonight.

— Andy Slater (@AndySlater) September 20, 2020

Andy Slater first reported the news after the Patriots announced the inactive list for tonight’s matchup against Seattle. White’s mother was also involved in the collision and is in critical condition this evening.

Can confirm. Terrible news. Hence White being inactive this evening. https://t.co/3RLiIjSt95

I’m not going to talk about how his absence may impact tonight’s game, because it doesn’t matter. My thoughts are with James and his family tonight, may his father rest in peace.

Patriots GameDay Supplement 9/20

September 20, 2020 by Tom Shaw-Mellors

Happy Sunday! Here’s your Game Day supplement for all of the latest news ahead of tonight’s Week 2 encounter against Seattle.

Roster Moves

Main Roster
K Nick Folk (Signed from PS)
CB Myles Bryant (Signed from PS)
DL Nick Thurman (Promoted from PS – will revert back after gameday)

Folk was signed to the team’s main roster after last week’s win against Miami, I thought we could potentially see a new face in as kicker, but Folk will get to continue his role for now. UDFA Myles Bryant is on the team! Now, given the depth already at the CB position, Bryant will have to be patient, but I like the kid and I think he can contribute in time.

Nick Thurman also gets an opportunity to support, his promotion to the main roster will give some extra depth for the defensive line.

Practice Squad
Signed
QB Jake Dolegala
OL James Ferentz

Dolegala, a former UDFA, joins after spending his entire rookie season as a backup to Andy Dalton in Cincinnati. Ferentz returns for another stint with the Patriots as he enters his sixth year in the league.
