Verhei identifies outside linebacker as the [Patriots] biggest weakness, but doesn’t seem as down on this void as with the others. The Patriots drafted Florida pass-rusher Jermaine Cunningham in the second round. But Verhei calls Tully Banta-Cain’s 10 sacks “a one-year fluke” and describes the rest of the depth chart as a collection of quasi-capable castoffs.

[Farnham] impressed this week, juking linebacker Brandon Spikes out of his shoes in a form-tackling drill that didn’t include the contact. He also caught the ball nicely.

Buddy Farnham (WR – Brown University) won himself a contact with the Patriots after this weekends rookie OTA. Check out this video that he must’ve made to get himself an invite to an NFL camp. Impressive stuff, and I’m not just talking about his abs.

The entire team gathered to take whacks at the one-man tackling sled. A lot of players are big and strong enough to lift that thing off the ground, but TE Rob Gronkowski nearly flipped the thing over on one of his reps. That caught everyone’s attention on and around the practice field. Quite an impressive display of power.

[The Patriots] got [their] top-rated player at each spot, second-round draft choice Rob Gronkowski (the “Y”) and fourth-round pick Aaron Hernandez (the “F”). Watching them on the field at rookie minicamp over the last two days, the possibilities look intriguing.
