Bill Belichick wasn’t the only coach in the division to use practice jerseys as a coaching tool. In the Jets’ final minicamp practice, Rex Ryan replaced the green jerseys with white numbers usually worn by the defense and had defenders wearing black jerseys instead. Ryan said black jerseys will be awarded throughout the season to position groups that perform the best in the prior practice. This is similar to what the Patriots have done with their practice players of the week.

Well said by Michael Schottey. I’m excited to see All-22 but admittedly will be using it more as a learning tool than a teaching one.

Sites like Pro Football Focus and Football Outsiders already use game study and statistical analysis to talk about the game in ways unheard of 10 years ago. Men like Chris Brown can write a book like The Essential Smart Football and explain Xs and Os better than any show on ESPN. Those men, along with countless others, are getting smarter every day. With the access to all-22, the NFL world will be in the palm of their hands and certain people in the NFL are right to be scared of that.

Be it in the offensive backfield, secondary, linebacking corps or even the defensive line, the Patriots look improved athletically. In free agency, athletic additions came in the form of Jonathan Fanene, Brandon Lloyd, Bobby Carpenter and Daniel Fells. The draft supplemented the process by adding players such as Chandler Jones and Dont’a Hightower. Chip in the development of players already on the roster, and it was clear that the Patriots will boast both speed and athleticism in 2012. We saw it during minicamp with many of the above mentioned players, and we may see it most clearly on the field with the team’s pass rush, which looks to improve this season.

At least he can laugh about it now? I guess? I can’t. I haven’t and will never watch G’s comments because why would I want to do that to myself?

Just go to bed.’ ” Bundchen had ripped Wes Welker. “I woke up the next morning, I tapped her on the shoulder [and asked], ‘Why did you say that?’ She was talking about the best player on our team, Wes Welker, yeah. That was my most recent memory.”
