Top 100 Players of 2014: Tom Brady
What better way to kickoff a Thursday that listening to TFB get some love from his fellow NFL players. It’s nice to hear people who actually play the game point out what makes Brady so good. You know, instead of, “he’s slipping because he wasn’t in the top 10 of some random stat” from the fanalysts.
As we’re just two weeks out from the opening of another training camp, it’s time to appreciate that we get to watch Brady play football for another season. It’s special and there won’t be many of these seasons left to enjoy it.
Talib might be gone, but he hasn’t forgotten what becoming a Patriot did for him.
“It meant a lot, man,” Talib said. “I learned a lot. I learned a lot just about being a professional. Learned from Bill [Belichick], seeing how Bill ran his building. It was a wonderful experience for me.”
No hard feelings, Aqib. Though I’m certainly happier to have Revis. If he can finish an AFC Championship game we just might make it back to the big one.

Football Gameplan’s 2014 NFL Season Preview – New England Patriots
Good preview from Football Gameplan. My own position-by-position training camp preview will start dropping next week.

Bill Belichick has found a new sort of prototype. Nearly 30 years removed from establishing what NFL teams look for in a 3-4 linebacker, Collins is the right player for this era. Once a safety at Southern Mississippi, Collins can go entire games without going after a quarterback. (Week 16 against Baltimore was a great example; he shut down their tight ends on passing downs.)
In the film room it just feels different, being in there my second year, I just feel more comfortable so I’ve just got to build off what I left off last year,” he said. “Coming into this offense, it was definitely a lot, a lot thrown on a rookie’s shoulders to do, but I think I handled it pretty well, coming into my second year feeling more comfortable so I just have to build off that.
Pats ceiling as an offense just might be determined by how big of a step Dobson, Thompkins and Boyce take this year.
