how do you feel about only 3 of the 11 receivers being on the roster last year? four of whom are rookies. And do you think the addition of Dobson will set us up for some of those good ol’ Moss like streak TD’s we all miss?

I’m trying to keep my expectations for Dobson in check, definitely a tall order to expect him to break any records as a rookie.

Overall, it’s exciting and a little scary with the total wide receiver turnover. Unfortunately the Pats made this bed with their misses in free agency and the draft since 2007, and now they have to choice but to lie in it. 

Of course, if successful, they’ll really be set offensively for the next five seasons at least, with top young weapons at all positions. But everyone needs to realize it might not be the smoothest process, especially at the start of the year. They might sputter a bit.

But the hope is that they’ll work the kinks out in September and October, get Gronk back, and then be firing on all cylinders come November/December.

Sudfeld caught a significantly higher percentage of targets (74.1 percent) than Eifert (61.1 percent) and Ertz (64.7 percent). He also had more “key receptions” than any of the other tight ends in the draft — 22 that went for long yardage, converted a key third or fourth down, or was inside the red zone that gave his offense a better opportunity to score. But where Sudfeld really sets himself apart is with his blocking. He led all tight ends with 24 blocks that resulted in touchdowns, including 19 in the run game, five in the passing game. Travis Kelce, taken in the third round by Kansas City, had the next most touchdown-producing blocks with 10. Sudfeld also graded out as a 94.6 percent blocker, by far the highest grade among draft prospects.
