Mock party Wednesday: Who will Pats pick?

Good round up from Tom E. Curran. Some are more believable than others, but this is a good collection of solid prospects with Pats potential.

Rob Gronkowski dunking and dominating high school basketball. Wish this was longer, but you get the idea pretty quick, which is that Gronk dominated high school basketball like he dominates NFL football.

Aaron Hernandez: The New NFL Athlete | ProFootballFocus.com

The Patriots have devised ways of using Aaron Hernandez that are proving equally successful, but for slightly different reasons. Hernandez is not the fastest player on the field, nor is he the strongest, or a physical monster like Rob Gronkowski, but he is an unusual blend of those traits such that it makes him uniquely between positions. The Patriots can at any time play him in one of three spots on offense: wide out, tight end, or running back. The league’s complete dependency on personnel packages and substitutions makes that very important.

PatsPropaganda & Frenz Podcast welcomes Sterling Moore at 3pm EST!

April 4, 2012 by Mike Dussault

Join me and Frenz as we talk with AFC Championship game savior Sterling Moore today, or download it off Itunes immediately afterwards. It was a whirlwind rookie season for Moore. Here’s a quick recap of his comings and goings:

  • 9/26: released by Oakland
  • 10/5: signed to Pats practice squad
  • 10/15: promoted to Pats 53-man roster
  • 10/17: released by Patriots
  • 10/19: signed to Pats practice squad
  • 11/9: promoted to Pats 53-man roster
  • Plays four games for Pats, three at free safety.
  • 12/10: released by Patriots
  • 12/14: signed to Pats practice squad
  • 12/23: promoted to Pats 53-man roster
  • Plays significant snaps at LCB in season finale (2 interceptions, including one for a touchdown) and all three playoff games.

So for those playing at home Moore was released three times this season at different points. What a journey for a guy who then made the play that saved the Patriots season and sent them to the Super Bowl.

Looking forward to hearing how Moore stayed focused through the ups and downs of the season, and what he’s doing this off-season to prepare for 2012.

Being able to move my arms a little better, there is not as much tightness, a little more flexibility as far as that goes … . I like the way the pants kind of feel. Usually when you get new pants, they are hard to break in and different things like that. They feel good. … I like the way it feels, the way it fits to your body, the mobility you have in it has been pretty good. I like where it is headed.

Linebacker Jerod Mayo has had surgery on a torn pectoral muscle and is out at least eight weeks, a source tells WEEI.com. If his rehab goes well, then Mayo is likely to return to working out in six weeks. If there’s a chance the captain of the Patriots defense could return for late in the […]
