ESPN: Peyton Manning confronts own body limitations

Here’s a quick little aside from Jets-Pats week on Peyton. This article is really pretty depressing, and I can’t help but feel sorry for what Manning is going through and how frustrating it must be. Sounds like it’s “off field Manning Face 24/7”. Most Patriots fans I’ve talked to really wish Manning the best and hope that he returns. The Pats-Colts rivalry is nothing without Peyton and the NFL as a whole without him is alot less exciting.

Wilfork tied with Ed Reed in Interceptions? Wow, that must really get BB hot and bothered.

After fours of football in the NFL, Vince Wilfork is tied at 5th with most interceptions this season… Let’s also point out that he’s a nose tackle going against linebackers, corners, and safeties.

“As long as our defense takes care of business, then we feel like we can really get after them in the running game,” left guard Matt Slauson said. “We’ve always had a lot of success on the ground there.”

Slauson said the Patriots “always leave a lot of big holes in the middle” of their 3-4 defense, but they’re actually playing quite a bit of 4-3 this season, with massive tackle Vince Wilfork and Albert Haynesworth (if healthy) in the middle. That’s 675 pounds of run-stopping force in the middle.
