ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Deion Branch has been traded back to the Patriots for a 4th round pick. Any predictions what number Deion wears (Welker’s got 83 now)? I say 13.
Branch is definitely on the down slope of this career but should be able to contribute in a lot of areas. Biggest of which could be leadership. And I’m sure Brady will be excited to have his OWW (Original Wes Welker) back.

Rapoport: Branch to Pats Back on the Frontburner
Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald reports that there might be some movement coming with the Deion Branch back to the Pats trade. It’s interesting to me that it’s taking so long to make this happen, would’ve thought it would happen last week if it was going to happen. I think it’d be a great move to bring Deion back, just for some veteran leadership for the young WRs, and maybe he can reignite some of that chemistry that he had with Tom Brady.

A friendly reminder of what happened the last time the Ravens came to Foxboro…
I’m not a big “revenge” guy, but I’m sure the lowlights will provide some motivation for the Patriots this week. I think most of us can agree that the Ravens are solid football team that we respect. Pats will need to bring it this week.

It was yet another crazy week in the NFL this past weekend, it seems like the goal of parity has finally been reached. When you look at the league wide standings there are no undefeated teams left and a log jam of teams with 1 or two losses.
20 of the 32 NFL teams are .500 or better and this is really good news for the Patriots.
Why? Because despite their feel-good win against the Dolphins we’re sure to get at least a few more inconsistent games from the young Pats. But in this year’s NFL it seems 4-5 losses won’t necessarily kill your season.
The set up for this weeks game against the Ravens has gone fairly well. The Ravens are coming off a feel-good win of their own and won’t be playing with desperation like they would’ve had they lost to the Broncos.
We all know what happened the last time the Ravens came to Foxboro, so if anything I expect the Pats to have a little bit of an emotional advantage.
All in all this will be an excellent test for the young Patriots secondary, going against veteran receivers and an offense that can move the ball. Offensively the Pats face their first test without Randy Moss and it’s against one of the leagues best defenses.
This isn’t a make or break game, but it will be an excellent indicator of where the Pats stand right now,
Crable Practice Player of Week 2 of 3 Times
Yes, sometimes I kid about Crable and how he’s the second coming of Lawrence Taylor, but all Crazy Legs jokes aside Crable’s proven that he can contribute behind the scenes. After every win the Pats award their practice players of the week with black jerseys to the guys who most helped the team prepare to win. As Mike Reiss points out Crable has won the award 2 of the 3 wins.
