With Steven Jackson the main power back, will Brandon Bolden be back on special teams or does he still have a role on offense?

January 15, 2016 by Mike Dussault

You’re probably asking the wrong guy because I’d prefer to never see Bolden get another carry in his Patriots career. Not to knock the guy, he’s as good as they get on special teams and that is vitally important.

He’s just not a playmaker. He knows the offense and might chip in with one or two decent plays when the defense loses him, but he’s not going to break tackles or make people miss.

While I am predicting James White to be a big part of the gameplan I still do think Bolden gets some touches unless Steven Jackson suddenly absorbed a large chunk of the playbook. All three will have some plays designed for them, but ideally I’d like to see it broken down – White 60% of snaps, Jackson 30%, Bolden 10%.
