Who do you expect to be cut, get extensions or have their contracts restructured to clear more cap space

January 31, 2014 by Mike Dussault

Here’s the list:

EXTEND (want long term, need to lower ‘14 cap hit)

  • McCourty (slam dunk to extend him now)
  • Solder (unlikely to lower cap hit, but can’t hit FA)
  • Gostkowski

RE-STRUCTURE (not sure long term, possible cut candidates)

  • Wilfork (long shot they’d cut him)
  • Gregory
  • Connolly
  • Kelly
  • Mankins (won’t cut him, possible to re-structure only)

CUT

  • Sopoaga
  • Adrian Wilson

ProFootball Focus: Patriots vs. Jets Re-Focused

Here’s how PFF graded out the Patriots for their win over the Jets. Kinda surprising that some of these rankings are so low, but clearly the “horizontal passing attack” is working as well or better than the 2007 vertical attack. Patriots: Three performances of note In a 42-point game, it’s ridiculous to suggest that one […]
