The Value of a Special Teamer: Matthew Slater’s Unsung Impact on Patriots | NEPatriotsDraft.com – 2014 NFL Draft

Great stuff breaking down a player who doesn’t get enough love around here, but is the consummate Patriot and another player who left everyone scratching their head when Bill drafted him. He should get more credit for taking a player who didn’t even have a position in college and developing him into a team captain and Pro Bowl special teamer. Hope Slater is back soon, though I also hope I never see him return another kick in his career. He was too fond of the “head down, run really fast into tackler” style of kick returns.

Does this season (so far) remind you a lot of the 2010 season? When the pats were uneven in the beginning, then got blown out by the Browns, and went on a run to beat every remaining contender and a first round bye and 14-2 record? If by some miracle this does happen, hopefully we won’t have s horribly bad divisional round again.

I guess the results of the games are a little similar but I think that Patriots team was a little bit smoke and mirrors on the defensive side of the ball where they really weren’t very good. The offense was just so smart and efficient and they never really had to climb out of any […]
