But if the Defensive Passer Rating of 78 is indeed a benchmark the 2009 Patriots really weren’t too far off the mark (81) despite some horrific performances against the Saints and Colts. In fact, that 81 DPR would rank 5th behind the 4 teams that played in the Super Bowl and the 2006 team that lost in the AFC Championship. So take this all with a grain of salt, we ain’t that far away.
