The Patriots are tops in the league in scoring defense (18.2 points allowed per game), second in the league in rushing yards allowed per game (88.8), eighth in defensive completion percentage (60.6) and ninth in defensive passer rating (83.9). And while New England is 21st in average yards yielded per game (253), in five of the first 10 games of the season, the undefeated Pats have allowed fewer than 250 passing yards, no small feat for a team that routinely rolls up big points early and forces teams to have to throw the ball to stay in the contest.
