Patriots – Jets quick thoughts

Wow, the Patriots defense actually showed some signs of life. Granted it wasn’t perfect but theres no doubt this was the best defensive performance of the year.

I am happy with the win but it’s hard to get too excited. The Pats played a little tight, especially on the offensive side. Protecting Brady is always an issue vs. The Jets as of late.

The defense certainly missed Jerod Mayo but they got by without him. Guyton seemed to have a decent game, Spikes seemed up and down.

Yet again the interior pass rush remains MIA. They really need Mike Wright back and hopefully will have him soon.

What a 4th quarter for the offensive line and Benjarvus Green-Ellis. They put the visions of 28-27 Jets from my mind, but it was hairy there for a second.

Mark Anderson has been quite a game sealer. Hopefully he can continue to that when the game is still really on the line.

Huge game for Matt Light, not that anyone pays attention to him unless he has a bad game.

Josh Barrett was missed today on the back end. Ihedigbo was outmatched playing deep, especially on the Holmes TD.

Shocked Hernando not only played but played well.

Not counting the Jets out just yet, but I’m sure he New York media will be all over them until they turn it around.

Excited to take a closer look at how the D played, but this week even the numbers should look good for them.

Really hoping Solder is ready for what the Jets are going to throw at him tomorrow. Not much mention has been made of Calvin Pace-Solder match-up.

Really captures Brady’s elite NFL QB look. Thank Hoodie he went back to the old helmet after the two game new one experiment.

buriedinforgottengrounds:

Tom Brady partly coloured using wacom intuos 4. Working progress of mine, so much work to do recently but when i have spare time i dedicate it to this piece for my lovely boyfriend who i think would probably rather be in an relationship with this man than me haha.

I don’t know who has the best pass defense in the league, but it’s not much better than the worst. All of them are getting torched. I did a game in St. Louis last week, Torrey Smith, a rookie, scored three touchdowns in the first quarter. The lockout and the lack of being on the field has hurt secondaries and pass-defense schemes more than any other area of our game, and quarterbacks are exploiting it. Safeties are not ready. They are breaking down, the communication is not there and the cohesiveness is not there. With the lockout, no OTAs and a short time in minicamp, secondaries are floundering, not matching up to routes, not playing zone well, not playing man well, they can’t sync up with blitzes. It’s the worst I’ve seen.

Patriots fans sweat it out as they await the ruling on the Tom Brady tuck rule fumble. Amazing video, it takes you back like you’re really there.
