Thursday Patriots Practice Tweets of Note

August 1, 2013 by Mike Dussault

Lots to digest after today’s session…

Ras-I Dowling was on the bike. It’s comforting to know when you’re away, things don’t change.

Steve Beauharnais with the endzone pick of Tom Brady! #Patriots

— Mook Williams (@MookWilliams)

RB Brandon Bolden returns. His presence, along with Julian Edelman and Aaron Dobson returns to practice, notable.

— Mike Reiss (@MikeReiss)

Team called third-and-1 and Adrian Wilson came in at linebacker

Pats practice coming to an end. Offensive highlight was Brady connecting on deep ball w KenBrell Thompkins. Impressive.

I don’t know what the Patriots are going to do at strong safety opposite McCourty. Probably a platoon. No one inspires confidence

Tweets of Note from Tuesday’s Patriots Practice

July 30, 2013 by Mike Dussault

No Dobson today, and although he was spotted on the sideline every day missed is tough to make up. Hopefully with tomorrow’s day off, he’ll be able to get back out there asap.

#ChandlerJones aligned as a legit 5 tech DE in base 3-4. If he can hold up, thrive at that size, at that position vs. reg runs…impressive

— Matt Chatham (@chatham58) July 30, 2013

Dobson is out on the field watching practice. Walking gingerly, seems to be favoring right leg, but doesn’t appear too serious

— Ben Volin (@BenVolin) July 30, 2013

Thompkins just caught a deep sideline bomb from Brady. Went up between Logan Ryan & Devin McCourty to grab it. Spiked the ball to celebrate

— Derek Havens (@PatriotsHaven) July 30, 2013

Brady throws for Zach Sudfeld in the back corner of the end zone. Sudfeld comes up with the one-handed grab. Crowd goes wild.

— Erik Frenz (@ErikFrenz) July 30, 2013

Danny Amendola is far and away, not even close, the best WR on the field.

— Doug Kyed (@DougKyedNESN) July 30, 2013

Ridley and Arrington got into a mini scrap at the end of practice to close out the day. Arrington popped Ridley and Rid retaliated.

Excited to announce we’ll now be featuring an awesome collection of Pats shirts from Townie News at the Prop Shop! “The Brady” remains my favorite Pats tee to this day, and I just about wore it out the last three seasons. Might time to get another one…

And of course our three tees are available there too. Stock up before the season starts!

More interesting nuggets, with Marcus Cannon getting a serious look at right guard.

Marcus Cannon worked with the first offensive line unit a bit at right guard (L to R): Nate Solder, Logan Mankins, Ryan Wendell, Cannon, Sebastian Vollmer. Dan Connolly also worked with the first team. The second unit was (L to R): Elvis Fisher, Tyronne Green, Josh Kline, Markus Zusevics, Kevin Haslam.

With more hybrid defenders between 250 and 270 pounds, might the Patriots experiment with some new looks on D that help generate a more consistent pass rush?
