Pats won this game, but lost Rodney Harrison and Matt Light, and ultimately, the war because of it.

Alfonzo Dennard carted off from Patriots OTA

June 4, 2013 by Mike Dussault

Never good when the cart comes out, hopefully there’s enough time for him to get healthy before training camp, but Ras-I continues to impress, so he better hurry.

Patriots OTA concluding. CB Alfonzo Dennard left practice late, with help of a cart. Injury appeared to be left arm/shoulder.

Two more pass breakups for CB Ras-I Dowling, who seems to have had a strong string of OTAs. … More to come on @espnboston Patriots blog.

The Best of PatsPropaganda This Week

June 1, 2013 by Mike Dussault

Another week of OTAs are in the books, with some more interesting nuggets starting to come in based on various observations.

Most interesting to me has been the slow-going at wide receiver where Michael Jenkins is starting with Danny Amendola, as expected.  It’s no surprise to see veterans getting the first looks at this point in the offseason.  That includes Steve Gregory, Kyle Arrington and Adrian Wilson on defense.

Of course the best news is that we can officially now say that “training camp starts next month”!

Here’s the best of the week:

Why Pats fans shouldn’t worry about Gronk

BRADY – THE FINAL CHAPTER – PROMO (by CelticsPatriotsman)

Holy hoodie, this video just made the offseason seem impossibly long. Amazing work as always by the editor only known as CelticsPatriotsMan.

Not a bad way to spend a Saturday watching this on a loop.

Friday Pats Q & A with a Q for U!

May 31, 2013 by Mike Dussault

Friday Pats Q & A with a Q for U!

The floor is open for our weekly Q and A, but for those of you without a Q, I’ve got one for you, especially the brave opposing fans who frequent this site.

It’s week one (or two), and the Patriots offense consists of Danny Amendola and Aaron Dobson at wide receiver, Jake Ballard and Aaron Hernandez at tight end, and Stevan Ridley in the backfield.

The last couple of years the conventional wisdom to beat the Pats was play press man, not worry about the deep part of the field, primarily out of nickel package (at least in the Bills’ case).

Now there’s no Gronk, no Welker, no Lloyd, and Dobson/Amendola have some speed and size elements the offense hasn’t had, granted both are unproven in the system, as is Ballard.

The question is what’s your defensive game plan? Who do you try to take away? Do you play nickel and worry about the pass, or do you stick to base to make sure Ridley is contained? Who are you least concerned about? Do you respect the speed/explosiveness of Amendola/Dobson in the deep part of the field?

Just a fun little exercise, most interesting answers get posted. This is what opposing defensive coordinators are thinking about right now as well, so I’m curious what our esteemed fanalysts think.

New England Patriots training camp ups and downs – ESPN Boston

New England Patriots training camp ups and downs – ESPN Boston Good recap of who the ESPN Boston crew thinks are up and down so far in practice. One of my old favorites that hasn’t gotten much love here lately is Dane Fletcher, who they had as an “up”. Fletcher is one of three players […]
