In honor of the Welker Miracle I found this “signed” authentic Welker throwback jersey for $99. Are we certain it’s an authentic signature? Nope, but $99 for an authentic all-sewn throwback is a great deal even if it was fake. And who knows, the autograph might be real.
Welker Could Be Ready Week One
Breer got himself kicked out of a practice for his early tweet that Welker was back, but he’s clearly been all over this story. Some really interesting new info:
Tom Brady and Welker’s respective knee surgeries were quite different. While it had been reported widely that Brady’s MCL healed on its own, I was told that was not the case. His MCL was torn in an area where it couldn’t heal naturally to the bone, and needed to be surgically repaired.
The Pats are going to have a hard decision to make at the start of training camp. With three divisional opponents in their first four games having Welker back at the start would be greatly beneficial. Perhaps the early bye will be a blessing as he’ll have a chance to rest in case he’s not quite there yet.

Brandon Tate Should Be On Your Radar
I think Tate’s going to be the starting kick off returner for the Pats in 2010 right off the bat. He doesn’t have much competition (unless you count the one Patriots I despise: Matthew Slater), was crazy good at it in college, and is finally healthy.
Kiper Thinks Cunningham’s a Sleeper
Apparently Mel didn’t quite do enough homework on Jermaine Cunningham and after going back and look at more tape now finds him “relentless”. Expectations are generally low in year one for Jermaine, if he’s anything more than a situational pass rusher most would be pleasantly surprised.

Michael Silver’s Prior Patriot Hatchet Jobs
This will be my only commentary on the Michael Silver article today regarding a “disconnect” between Tom Brady and the Patriots because long ago I learned to ignore the professional contrarians (Skip Bayless, Michael Felger) and those who just want to make incendiary commentary (Silver). Read the article above, that should tell you a little about what he does, and how off his perception of the Patriots organization really is. That is all.
