new england patriots

December 9, 2010 by Mike Dussault

The Patriots will face a 4-3 base defense for just the 5th time this season when they play the Bears. The Pats average 35.5 points against the 4-3, and 29.6 points against the 3-4.

“Skin The Bears” New England Patriots Fight Song Music Video (1986)

December 9, 2010 by Mike Dussault

Holy Hoodie how have I never seen this video?! I think it might set the world record for stiff white guys trying to sing/have rhythm. You’ll probably notice Bob Lobel all over the place in this video. I’m not sure who the band is but clearly for 1986 they were trying to be on the cutting edge of the hair band movement, now it’s crazy insane how dated it looks.

The good thing is that I can promise this song WILL NOT be stuck in your head the rest of the day. In fact it will be out of your head by the time you finish the video… IF you make it through the whole thing… and that’s a big if.

And now a minute with the Mauler…

December 9, 2010 by Mike Dussault

I don’t know what it’s going to take but we really need to re-sign Logan Mankins this off-season. The amount of praise that has been heaped on him since his return, especially from BB himself has been notable. I can’t imagine that’s not on purpose.

I don’t expect anything to get done before the end of the season, and I’m guessing Mankins is going to want to at least test the waters, but it’s pretty clear the Patriots are well aware of his value to the franchise.

Chicago Sun Times: Good Belichick – Martz Article

Pretty safe to assume it’s going to be bombs away for the Bears offense on Sunday. Or as BB said before facing the Martz-led Lions offense in 2006 “they’re probably loosening up (the quarterback’s) arm now”.

Patriots Do Care/Don’t Cares

December 9, 2010 by Mike Dussault

And now a quick reset on all things Patriots I do or don’t care about…

– DON’T CARE if Tom Brady wins the NFL MVP this year.

– DON’T CARE if any Patriots make it to the Pro Bowl.

– DO CARE that injuries are starting to mount… Wilhite, Wright, Pryor have all missed significant time. Spikes and Chung missed today’s practice. Pats need to get healthy on defense.

– DON’T CARE about explanations for why Peyton Manning has sucked lately. I still think they’ll win the AFC South and would prefer not to have to play them again.

– DON’T CARE where the Patriots are ranked in any power rankings.

– DON’T CARE who does or doesn’t pick the Patriots as Super Bowl favorites.

– DO CARE about continuing to improve, especially on defense.

– DON’T CARE about the “rookie wall”.

– DO CARE about the challenge the Chicago Bears present, but I think the Patriots will win.

– DON’T CARE that the Jets will “remember” the beatdown they received Monday night. Of course you’ll remember it, and if we play you again the result will be the same.

– DO CARE about winning the Super Bowl and any/everything that it will take to get there. If it doesn’t directly correspond to that I DON’T CARE.

Video: Sanchez Dragging Cunningham Down

December 9, 2010 by Mike Dussault

Thanks to Kellie (aka @NEGrl) for capturing this video from Inside the NFL last night. I remember this play pretty clearly and it was hard to see why Cunningham missed this sack. But now we can see why. Sancheesy pulled him down by the facemask….

Can we send this to the league office?

2013 Offensive Line Rankings – Matchups – Rotoworld.com

2013 Offensive Line Rankings – Matchups – Rotoworld.com Pats are ranked number one here, and I love how they’re pointing out Cannon’s potential at guard. The 49ers are better in run blocking, but New England gets a big enough edge in the pass-blocking phase to put position coach Dante Scarnecchia’s unit over the top. Despite […]
