Here, with Mayo and Vince, you can talk to the guys. It’s not something you couldn’t do in D.C., but here, it’s really like a family in the locker room. Everyone is for you. No matter what happens, if a guy does something or whatever, it doesn’t matter, they’re all behind him. They’re not going to pass judgment or anything like that. It’s all about everybody being for you, everybody having your back.

Patriots name 2011 Captains

I was kind of pulling for Patchung! here but oh well. Say what you will about the Patriots drafts but every single captain was drafted by BB. Excited for McCourty and Slater, who has slowly won me over after a couple years of being miscast as a kick returner who subscribed to the “just put my head down and run straight into oncoming defenders” style of returns.

    I’m drooling over here. No matter how next Monday night goes I’ll be almost as excited for Thursday.

    There are plenty of other interesting nuggets. One doesn’t expect to see Belichick trash-talking with then-Ravens receiver Derrick Mason during a Week 4 game, with some we’re-going-to-have-to-bleep-this-out language. Belichick also tells Baltimore’s Ed Reed that he thinks he’s the best free safety who ever played the game.

    Later, we learn that Belichick wanted to avoid a postgame handshake with Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels, his former offensive coordinator, so he embraced him before the game and told him they’d just wave afterward.
