Really captures Brady’s elite NFL QB look. Thank Hoodie he went back to the old helmet after the two game new one experiment.

buriedinforgottengrounds:

Tom Brady partly coloured using wacom intuos 4. Working progress of mine, so much work to do recently but when i have spare time i dedicate it to this piece for my lovely boyfriend who i think would probably rather be in an relationship with this man than me haha.

Some Patriots defensive gameplan vs. Jets thoughts…

October 7, 2011 by Mike Dussault

There’s no secret that if Mike Wright and Albert Haynesworth are back in action for the Patriots this weekend it should provide a huge boost. As dominant as Haynesworth has been in spots, it’s really Wright that would most benefit the Patriots in their area of weakness, aka pass defense.

The 4-3 defense should be in full effect at the start of the game with the Jets threatening to get back to their “ground and pound”. With the ability to rotate Wilfork, Love, Warren and Haynesworth on the inside they should have success in shutting down the Jets run game.

The question will be who fills in for Jerod Mayo in the base. Gary Guyton has the experience, but Dane Fletcher possibly has more talent. If I was constructing a base front for the Pats I’d guess something like this:

Ellis-Haynesworth-Wilfork-Carter

Ninkovich-Spikes-Fletcher

The key will be to put as much pressure on the Jets offensive lineman as possible. The Jets will not be able to double both Wilfork and Haynesworth and that will leave one of their struggling offensive lineman with a difficult assignment.

If the key is to shut down the run and put the game in Mark Sanchez’ hands the Patriots will need to take a page from last year’s 45-3 beatdown. The Pats D was consistently walking around the line of scrimmage and it seemed to confuse Sanchez and put him on his heels.

From the reports of what the Jets were doing at practice this week it sounds like their offensive game plan will be all about running the ball and short, quick passes. If that’s the case I’d love to see the Patriots challenge all the short stuff and force not only the Jets protection to hold up, but also Sanchez to make excellent decisions.

Of course the Pats have been burned deep plenty this year, but the return of Wright and Haynesworth could make a huge difference in that area.

The Jets offensive line is the key area of the entire game. If the Patriots are able to win the battle in the trenches it will be hard for the Jets to match the Patriots offense.

PFF/Palazzolo: Three to Focus on – Jets @ Patriots

PFF/Palazzolo: Three to Focus on – Jets @ Patriots

Good stuff here. Most interesting… and sadly probably most applicable:

Sanchez was terrible against the Ravens (-5.9). While he was miserable when pressured (0 for 8, 1 INT), perhaps more alarming is how he fared with time in the pocket (11 for 27, 119 yards, 54.4 NFL QB Rating).

Say hello to our new little friend Stevan Ridley.

Belichick was asked to characterize the running style of rookie Stevan Ridley, who was impressive against the Raiders. “He’s got some quickness, he’s got good vision, he’s got some strength, can run through tackles. He’s got a combination of skills. [He] showed a burst there last week against Oakland when he got through the line of scrimmage. I think he can do a number of different things – break tackles, cut back, make guys miss, find the hole, he ran outside, ran inside, caught the ball. I don’t think it’s really a question of overall ability; it’s a question of consistency. A lot of things can go on in a play and just being able to do all those things right and make the right decisions, that type of thing. I think he has running skill.”

ESPN: Peyton Manning confronts own body limitations

ESPN: Peyton Manning confronts own body limitations

Here’s a quick little aside from Jets-Pats week on Peyton. This article is really pretty depressing, and I can’t help but feel sorry for what Manning is going through and how frustrating it must be. Sounds like it’s “off field Manning Face 24/7”. Most Patriots fans I’ve talked to really wish Manning the best and hope that he returns. The Pats-Colts rivalry is nothing without Peyton and the NFL as a whole without him is alot less exciting.

Wilfork tied with Ed Reed in Interceptions? Wow, that must really get BB hot and bothered.

huyhoquocho:

After fours of football in the NFL, Vince Wilfork is tied at 5th with most interceptions this season… Let’s also point out that he’s a nose tackle going against linebackers, corners, and safeties.
